I am Dr. David Gendreau and I am a chiropractic radiologist. My primary purpose is to assist fellow chiropractors in the interpretation of their patient's images.
It is not uncommon for a patient to request x-rays of injured or painful body part. This often gives them relief or understanding why other imaging or referral will be required.
Imaging whether through traditional radiographs or computed imaging is a great educational tool and can be used in your report of findings
Imaging can assist the chiropractor in determining indications or contraindications for manipulations or adjustments
I have been fortunate to lecture to fellow chiropractors in California on radiology and radiography. This is most commonly used for their continuing education units. I have lectured for the International Chiropractors Association of California, Porteous Chiropractic Academy, Gonstead Seminar and others.
I have been practicing for the last 33 years. I graduated Summa Cum Laude from Los Angeles College of Chiropractic (LACC) in 1989. I became a resident in Diagnostic Imaging at LACC in 1990. I received my DACBR in 1992 and completed my residency in 1993.
I started my teaching experience at Cleveland Chiropractic College - Los Angeles in 1993. I finished this stage of my life in 2011 when the campus permanently closed. I taught multiple radiology courses as well as undergraduate courses such as physics and terminology.

This condition is usually found in patients over 50 years of age. The pelvis is a common location for the disorder. Thickening of the pelvic brim, accentuation of the trabecular pattern, sclerosis and protrusio acetabul are common features. This is an example of a sclerotic form. Other common locations of this condition are the skull, vertebrae and long bones. Some case can undergo malignant degeneration.
The challenges with personal injury cases are conveying to the patient the need for consistent and proper care. Radiographic reports can assist the doctor with this using the radiographs not just as a diagnostic tool but as an educational tool. Radiographic reports are useful in patient reports sent to their attorney. Pathological findings as well as biomechanical changes can be used by the attorney for their interaction with the insurance companies.
Many work injuries are caused by overuse and repetitive stress. Acute injuries such as slip and falls, trip and falls and lifting injuries are also a common cause. Worker's compensation carriers often delay proper treatment due to lack of imaging findings. Early request for authorization of imaging is important in your treatment plan for the patient.
